So New Year. Yay. Picked up a gray suit from Brooks Brothers. They had a pretty nice sale going on, and with some addititonal deals managed to save 33% on a suit, 4 shirts, and 2 ties. So yay, I now have a suit again. About 12 years after the last time I bought a suit. I'm still curious about the custom clothing place over on Broadway, Zeglio. Might try them anyway or maybe Indochino (online custom clothier), for a more formal black one. But when I was getting fitted for a suit, damn, it felt good. Clothes that actually fit will do that. Also tried on the slim cut dress shirts? Same deal. Felt good. Felt better. Maybe it's time to get better fitting clothes again. Headed to visit Al, Nicole, Luke and my parents for a week. We're going to be Luke's godparents. Looking forward to seeing Luke for the first time. Also looking forward to hopefully a nice relaxing week. Hopefully I won't do too much work there. Also realized if I had thought about it, that I could have had my bike shipped down there and gone on some rides. Would have been interesting with actual hills. Maybe next time. Just remember that I need to cut down on spending again for the first half of the year, as I max out my 401k. And now there's a HSA I need to fill out as well. Switched over to using an Apple Keyboard/Magic Trackpad at work. So no actual Mac, but Mac accessories. I did commute by bike earlier this week. First time wearing a facemask. Pretty warm when I did. Glasses fog up though. When I'm going there's good circulation, but at stops I start to fog up. Didn't ride today because I didn't want to roll up the suit and try to get it home on the bike.

Really good trip to see Luke and Al and Nicole and the parents outside Austin last week. Nice and relaxing. Great to hang out with family, and to finally see Luke, my new godson. Apparently he just started getting less fussy when we showed up. So either great timing, or Tracy and I and Lucy are just that good of an influence. Weather wasn't all that great for the first couple of days, but warmed up towards the end. Watched a bunch of movies after Lucy went to bed. Went to a couple playgrounds, ate a lot, took a train ride on the Zilker Zephyr, took Lucy to an inflatable playground at the mall, took a golf cart ride. Pretty much perfect. Not sure when I could have ridden if I did bring a bike. Lucy had her own seat on the flights, since she's old enough, and was great travelling. She even got a little toy airplane on the trip back. Got to use the Withings Baby Monitor when Lucy was sleeping in Luke's crib. I think it's really awesome, at least when Lucy lets us leave it open. Busy first couple days back at work. We keep hiring people, and we're running out of space. Also, my desk was filled with packages I received. That was crazy. Also, riding again to work. Hard after taking a week off. And cold. I think I figured out how to put the facemask on and not fog up my glasses.

Started Potty Training Lucy this past weekend. Going with the pantless method. And of course stickers and treats. But she did really well on Saturday. Impressively well we thought. Pooped in the potty twice. Thought that was amazing. And yes, I'm talking about kids pooping. A couple of accidents. But much better than I thought it'd be. I thought she'd be peeing all over the place, marking her territory. I thought we'd have to put down a tarp, or roll up the carpet. We do have a towel on the couch, but she only had an accident there once. But Saturday? She was going and sitting all by herself, no prompting. We thought she was a potty savant. Then Sunday. And not so much. Almost all prompting. Pooped in her underwear. But Tracy's with her today and apparently she's doing better. But expecting lots of accidents, lots of pants at school. We'll see. Really cold today. Bundled up on the bike ride in. Finally used the goggles that I got from Auntie Luz years and years ago. But they're falling apart. But didn't have a single piece of skin exposed on the ride in. Was actually sweating this morning. We'll see on the way home though. I'm completely off individual rss, and just using Fever Hot lists. And individual websites. Only Twitter I check is Bill Simmons, occasionally. Facebook still. But otherwise, I'm no longer on the cutting edge of online news. Which I think just puts me 6-12 hours behind that edge.

Trying to be more organized again. Which means trying to use GTD and OmniFocus again. Trying to keep up with the systems in place to keep me in my place. Hopefully, with less distractions from internet reading sources, I can be more productive. A new twist? Trying to be more single tasked. Cutting down on the multitasking. Trying to stop things from leaking through the cracks. We'll see. In potty training news with Lucy, she's doing well. Really the only problem is #2. Hasn't had a successful dump at school yet. Always an accident. Only a few successful times at home too. Otherwise, she's doing really well. Impressed. Weather's crazy. Overdressed for the ride to work yesterday and this morning. No idea how to dress, and always thinking I needed to bring extra gear just in case. In the pouring rain on the way home today just added arm warmers to pants, jersey, and vest. It was enough. Special thanks to Russell for the Boston Cycling Cap. Came in handy today. Looking forward to warmer weather, and stripping down the Pacer for some longer rides up north. Currently reading Masalai, Ryan Case's novel he finally self published. Pretty good so far.
