had a cappuccino from intelligensia, and no size available. it was a small cup, seemed smaller than 8 oz, but perfect. really good. And makes me think of specialty's, being the same way. which got me thinking about really good companies removing choice from products. because they take pride in what they make. because they think they know better, and usually do. think apple, with their simple product line. because they've assumed the responsibility, and we've started to trust them, that these stores and companies will treat us, the customer, best. And I love this idea. I love this trust, this relationship that's starting to form. that it isn't all about empowerment. that isn't just giving whatever the user wants. because, guess what, sometimes the user doesn't know what they want. and the people that have spent the time and money and energy learning and figuring out what's best? they know. and it's better for us, if we let go of the notion that we know better. that someone else does know better, and that we trust their decision. i love it. i actually have forgotten what it's called, when an online service tries to get the users to make the content, and do it for them? that it sometimes ends up being there's a smaller group of users that do the best work? that curated sense of information? it's just an extension of my small/big pet peeve, of jaywalkers, of people who can't go to a crosswalk and wait for the light, or to just follow the lights at the crosswalk, that they know better in terms of traffic flow, that they are more important than traffic flow, that they don't trust the light/instruction. it's like we've lost faith. we've lost trust. we don't believe what everyone else, or anyone else may say or do. which is funny because it's the empowerment of the internet which probably gave rise to that. WebMD anyone? no longer trust our doctors, but rather a website instead. how i go to wikipedia when an argument arises, and trust that info as fact.

Crowdsourcing. It's called crowdsourcing.
