Internet, Silicon Valley, Internet Start Ups, big money. Watching CNN perspectives on Internet winners, guys that started companies that went public and made them millionaires. Excite, Hotmail, Venture Capitalists, some other companies, but guys that like doing their jobs. They like creating something new. Money is a perk, but that's not why they did it, not why they do it. Not success, not fame, not women, not parties, it's all about the product. I know what the feeling is, just wanting to make something, to make something good. Maybe it's the same feeling artists get, maybe it's just the same feeling all people get when they want to completely do their job, when they want to see their job done right, done as well as they can do it, done perfectly. But these guys work so much, that they don't have any free time, or don't want any free time. But there's a whole other side that isn't shown. It's also about schmoozing. It's about giving off the image of profitablity, without actually having a product to make, about finding investors in dreams. All I think about is shareware, or freeware. All I think about are the backyard inventors, basement creators, and all the cool things the guy down the street has made. That's all I think about.
