Multiprocessing. I remember, I think it was Ted, but to have a whole
bunch of cheaper, older processors, but working together, vs. the single
brand new top of the line cpu. So I'm thinking one of my next purchases
will finally be that step, maybe a dual tyan, some celerons, it would
be really cool to find someone that makes like a 16 cpu 486 or even just
a pentium machine, or motherboard, cause it could be relatively cheap,
but it'd be pretty cool. This machine is going to be a server, for
server stuff, so that would be for development at home and stuff, so I
might actually need some of the processing power. But distributed
computing. I think it should be the wave of the future, that is, the
wave of the next couple years. We should stop thinking in the single
tense. Parallels. Cooperation. Gets things done faster, all the time.
Just need an easy way to do it. OS? Linux, Windows NT supposedly does
it to. And Mac OSX supposedly will too, and a multi core G4 would be
pretty cool, especially in a laptop form. Better yet in a Newton format.
