big picture. bigger picture. energy independence. global warming. completely separate goals and timelines? no. but experts in one probably don't recognize the effect on the other. pushing of agendas, one over the other, but who really can wrap their head around all of it: timeline, technology, economic effect. but sometimes you just have to set small goals, and get things done. good thing? american auto industry is going down the tubes. that lobby must be getting smaller. the worse off they are, the less impact the removal of oil dependence, at least by vehicular travel, becomes. how many towns survive because of the auto industry? it's connected, for sure, and slightly upsetting that single agenda pushers don't see it. and that's what makes it hard, fear of making any single step for how it affects anything else. that's why we need to make a small goal and do it. and then see the effect. lather, rinse, repeat. world is too big to understand completely, economics and political forces shifting rapidly, it's starting to be like the weather. Too much butterfly effect.
