soulmates. it's come up before. it'll come up again. but now i question why? movies. over and over. same concept. same idea. two people destined for each other. two people whose paths randomly crossed once upon a time. crossed. not run parallel, not intertwined, but crossed, then separated, then joined, at some point in the future. why? did such tales and stories, is this a form, is this one of those thoughts from the ether, from the collective, something that everyone thinks, believes in? ancient Egyptians, Romans, celts, Eskimos, Mayans, did they have such stories? is this something that makes sense? faith in a higher power. faith in a greater good. but you don't have movies or books about people finding their perfect job, their occupation, their place or status, it's the relation to others, the social aspect that makes the happy ending. the end of Usual suspects. why do you cheer for Keyser Soze? because he was good at what he did. there was a certain elegance, beauty, dare i say quality in his evilness. but i digress. why does making it right in the world rely on, or be reduced to love? reduced is the best way to describe it. reduced. the closest film and television gets to making it work, reduces it to relationship. but even then why? because it's the part of life we're still willing to accept the unknown in.
