what happens to bleeding edge when it stops bleeding? when it's on the middle of a plateau, and not so dangerously close to falling? when the forefront becomes the playing field, when the envelope gets bigger, when what the leaders have done is what everyone does? honeymoon stages, newness factor, variety being the spice of life. biological reasons for this? must have newest things, can't be like the rest of the world, must find niche, why? always searching for avante garde why? why would trying to find the newest and coolest thing, which might actually be dangerous, be an instinct?
