Why does ultimate need observers to be watchable? Is it because people cheat? Because highly competitive play doesn't allow for self officiating? why does it have to be that way? I'd really like to see a really well done self officiated game. Where offenders call fouls on themselves. Or there's no real contesting. Or if there is it immediately goes back one. Does that even happen? I just went back and read some old journal entries, came across the one from Sandblast where Jay Barry fouled me on an in cut, but I didn't call it, and immediately turned to dump, but my dumper was waiting for the call to be made. I wanted to dump and continue, probably because Jay wouldn't have been in a position to recover. But everyone was like call a foul. And I'm like no, I wanted to play on. That's what I wanted. Always wanted. A clean game. No dirty play. Why does that happen? Why can't clean competition exist? Why not the pursuit of excellence? Not winning?
