switcher switcher, belly itcher, issues with the mac community, more like issues with the new mac community, the reaching out, the changing of the guard. it's an odd time to be a mac user, with the appeal greater, and the incoming mac users over the past few years, what has that done to the existing mac userbase? or has it not changed, and just the alpha dogs have gotten fed up, had enough, and decided to move on? Maybe they took a look around and didn't like where it was headed. No longer the niche, no longer the appeal of thinking different, but moving mainstream, seeing the white ear buds, the glowing white apple on silver at conferences, maybe that's too much, and moving on. but is the mac userbase different now than it was 5 years ago? I would assume so. Like drastically different. I figure the only ones who stuck around between 9 and X were the die hards, every once else probably jumped ship. And those that came back were the people that wanted to be linux users but couldn't hack it, and the few techies who like having a pretty gui. then came the ipod, and well, the unwashed masses. Really? I have no idea. But that doesn't paint the prettiest picture for mac users, does it?
