But is information as a product, as something bought and sold, when did this start? i can't guess when it started, but i browse the wikipedia, i think about its predecessor, the hardbound book encyclopedia. how was that sold? by traveling salesmen. and what is an encyclopedia? it's like one giant source of information that was bought and sold. information. And what happens now that said information is free? sorta? don't know.
