When I think animated musicals I think Disney. Fine, but while watching
Anastasia today, I wondered, since the voices were pretty famous people,
if they did their own singing. They don't. Meg Ryan and John Cusack
don't sing. Why didn't they find actors who could sing and make them
do the voices and the singing? why are they separate? why didn't they
just let the singers do the voices as well? In a surprise to myself, I
read that Lacey Chabert, Claudia from Party of Five, sings as little
Anastasia in the beginning. But I'd like to see more where the voices
are the same, both speaking and singing. One movie that comes to mind
that really does this is Woody Allen's Everybody says I love you. |
