I just realized that I missed the premiere of Freaks and Geeks on NBC
Saturday night. I was otherwise being entertained. Story in another
column. But Freaks and Geeks was supposedly a really good show, bad
time slot, but a really good show. Another teen drama, this time set
in the 80's. A little before my time, but nonetheless, it was a critically
acclaimed show for the new season. I pride myself a little on watching
critically acclaimed show's within the genre of choice, in this case,
dramas targeted toward teens. But I missed it. It's on next week, but
missing the start, I don't know, miss out on a lot that way. But in other
premiere news today, Snoops and Jack and Jill were shown for the first time.
Neither held my interest for very long. Also there was the 25th
anniversary SNL on Sunday night. I watched a little bit of that. But
I kept flipping back to the Sundance Channel, and the Independent Film
Channel to catch Breaking the Waves and Four Rooms. They show some good
stuff. And of course caught some Sphere and then later some Friends and
the Drew Carey Show. Too much television, nothing but that and the
newspaper to pass the Sunday away. |
