trust, belief in others, wholesomeness, personal relationships in the service industry, gone by the wayside, lifelong careers, retiring with the same company, joining that corporate family, the firm, gone by the wayside. community, togetherness, partners, groups, common good, common grounds, platforms, meeting places, gone by the wayside. on the frontside, selfishness, the best deal, what works best for me, how to get the best deal, the most money, the most security, and value, and price performance ratio, and greed, greed that is good, and favored, and wanted and desired. on the frontside, me first, how does this apply to me, what do I get out of it, how does this work for me, why it should work for me, and if everyone looks out of numero uno, then everyone works out okay in the end. and that's just sad. it takes a community, it takes a village, it takes a city, a county, a state, a region, a country. it takes all those little people, everywhere, individuals, coming together, working together. subservient to the greater good. such a foreign concept now, these days, to give up the self, not when we're on the cover of time as person of the year, not when user created content is the newest whiz bang feature, when social processes, when getting the masses to do the work for you, but maybe a return to it? too many complaints, too many things, greed, selfishness, lack of community, of relationship building, of networking, all by the wayside
