apple's monopoly on music downloads: it's a problem why? monopolies are a problem because they control pricing, right? and usually that means higher prices for the buyers? and competition breeds lower prices, but why do the studios want that in the first place? odd. i'm taking info from the wikipedia article on monopoly, so besides pricing not affected by competition, the other issues are less innovation? it's a music download service. it's music. how is that supposed to be innovative? how's that supposed to change? monopolies are bad when they're evil. when a monopoly is good, it's a good thing? of course, you can't guarantee that a monopoly will be good, so you play with fire. it's just annoying.
