queues, lined up, round the block, dmv, in place, got a number, there's order, organized, hopefully efficient. and then those that cut, that edge ahead, that pass on the left, use the shoulder, that try to squeeze that extra car length or two to shave off some apparently reasonable amount of time from a commute. order and place, time and place, the byrds were right, there is a season for everything, a time and a place for all things to come to pass, and again, touching upon larger elements, organizational units, combinations, voltrons, bigger and better. and there's an upper limit, as i read about LBO's, about raiders and company breakups, corporations too big for their britches, too big to control themselves, to take care of themselves, and the need to be broken up, constituents, elements, in order to reorganize, to reassemble, into yet another large corporation. what's the limit? what's the organizational limit where functionality no longer increases with specialization and size? how does efficiency and technology affect that limit?
